Hey guys,

Long time member, but first time poster

. I got some good news for you iMate users out there. I was able to get the new WM 6.1 ROMs for both the iMate Ultimate 8502 and 9502, though I was told these were still considered beta ROMs. They are for the Australian market I assume as the Telstra logo displays on the boot up.

I've been using it on my 9502 for the past day or two and it seems to have fixed the following issues:

SDHC is supported now
MS Voice Command is working
GPS does not have to be turned on manually anymore
Camera program memory leak seems to be fixed. I will have to do more testing.

Ongoing issues:

Free Program Memory is still 33 MB after a hard reset

The ROM also seems to fix alot of software compatibility issue I was having. Like some of my SPB software that I normally use is now working without any freezes or heavy slowdown. It also seems to run a bit faster, especially when you slide out the keyboard. Anyways, give it a try. Hope this helps.

maybe u need to do another hard reset!
i have not done any hard reset yet, after i flashed to wm6.1
here is what i got!

What did you guys use for a ROM Unlock Code? Nevermind - found it. On a sticker that came with the phone.

Holy COW!

My imate 9502 is working like it should... I'll get a SDHC tomorrow and test it... Bluetooth voice dials with a touch of the headset, I haven't had a Standby problem, GPS works like a charm automatically. There is another thing I am happy with but can't remember...

SMS threads are very cool...

I'm am very happy!!

Hi,

I've run the upgrade program and it worked fine until the first reset... Now I see the message "Please reconnect to PC and run the upgrade again"... I did this 10 times and nothing... I keep getting the "Connect fail" message from the setup file... The problem is that Active Sync dosen't see anymore the phone connected and I don't think it can anymore... that message seem to be from the bootstrap program or something like that...

Please help...

Me again...

Just want to know how the **** can I connect to Active Sync the phone for upgrade if the first thing the phone shows on the screen is a red message "Please reconnect to PC and run the upgrade again" and the upgrade program always gives me an error message with "Connection failure..."

This phone is so close to be out of the window...

Hi dear friend
Last night I tried to flash my phone again
because i'm in Iran and we have 4 hour without electricity power per day / --> the power turned off and The ROM FLASH was ****ed like toyr mobile's FLASH ROM .
Today I sent my mobile to guarantee-company for repair.

Also you should send ur mobile for flash repair . sorry !!!!!! playing with ROM flashes has benefits and also .... :(((((((

Thanks shoorangiz, I'll try to send it to the service... Anyway this sucks big time because I did ROM upgrades over 30 times so far from the laptop... just to be sure that nothing happens... Imate is the first PPC that crashes like that... :(

After Flashed the new ROM My Device is now stuck in iMate Blue Screen Logo....!!!

Got it...You guys have to Manually Hard Reset:

1. Remove battery and reinsert (to make sure the phone is off).

2. Hold down Fn and the Green button (with the phone icon on it) and press the power button.

3. You will see the white hard reset option screen almost immediately. Press the Left Soft Key to hard reset.

Work for me...:) :)

after i removed the junks in /windows/statup
and remove that preinstall program (just go to setting -> remove programs
and remove some of the stuffs on today screen,
now i have ..
progam: total:   86.33mb
           in use: 35.22mb
             Free: 51.11MB
