My 8502 with the same ROM connects automatically - I only have one BT device (car hands free) and it connects as soon as I start the engine.

Scroll wheel push is the same as joystick press (i.e. "select") but if you move your thumb down to the side OK button (or front OK) it will do the same as the Windows button (i.e. enables the start menu) just as you describe.

Thanks for the tip with the OK button. Don't know how I missed it! I might try resetting the bluetooth device and pair from scratch, but it is a cheapy.

Hmmm... How did you manage to lose the Telstra stuff and the Profile Manager? Personally I think the Profile Manager has issues - it didn't play well with SPB Phone Suite for one and kept resetting my ringtone to some stupid Alouette one. Just yesterday I disabled (I think completely) it by renaming its DLLs and EXEs

I am on Optus, so I'd be perfectly happy to lose the Telstra rubbish.

Does it still have the NextG animation at boot up?

Sounds like you got a generic upgrade. Where/how did you upgrade?

have to agree with you on the profile manager. It changes ring tones and takes control in ways you don't expect, but I like the ease with which I can change to silent/outdoor and switch the screen to landscape.
I do still get the NextG stuff and like you am not bound to the Telstra bits. I just never got to play with them so now I don't know what I'm missing. But I can guess not much.
I found the ROM on the xda-developers site - Obviously not this site! But overall I'm happy so no need to change unless an official release comes out with improvements I need.

Assuming it's this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407336 , That is the same one that was posted here (also on megaupload - compared binaries) and mine kept it's Telstra nonsense.

Alarms still not functioning / Clock stopping overnight; frequency of errors much less if all open programs are closed using task manager and the phone is plugged into the charger overnight. How long have mobile phones/windows mobile had a clock and an alarm for! How did you get this so wrong iMate?

Ring tone randomly resets to windows default ringtone

Ability to connect to internet services or download email etc drops out every couple of days and I have to re-run the imate Configurator

Telstra crap everywhere... how i'd love to get rid of it

My old i-mate SP5 used to connect automatically to my paired bluetooth devces. 8502 doesn't.

I have the same problem with Voice Speed Dial in my 8502 whereby my paired bluetooth headset can't remotely trigger VSP to work. My older Kjam works fine. imate can't assist nor can Cyberon (VSP provider to imate). Cyberon say its a hardware limitation. imate said to soft and hard reset. tried both and still doesn't work. does anyone know how to overcome this?

Hi,

I have the same problem with mine and the I mate response is that they are aware of this problem and is due to be fixed within the update of WM6.1, however there is no release date for this, so my phone is on its way back to Telstra with a long list of issues and they have given me a Jas Jam temporarily.

I will let you know if it get it back fixed

Is anyone having issues with daylight savings? I've loaded the MS patch but I don't think it is relevent to WM 6.1. I've even changed the time manually but it changes back (A Telstra feature???).
Somewhat anoying with appointments.
